The Race Across America

Thirty percent longer than the Tour de France, the Race Across America is one of the hardest bike races in the world. The Race starts in Oceanside, California, and finishes in Annapolis, Maryland, covering 3000 miles, across 12 states, and climbing over 170,000 vertical feet.  Not only is it longer than the Tour, but racers must finish the distance in half the time with no rest breaks.  Cycling at its most grueling.

What does this have to do with TAG Oil? Chad Williams will be competing in the solo category on behalf of New Zealand, and TAG Oil is a proud sponsor. Chad is riding to raise money and awareness for mental health in New Zealand, specifically, The Key To Life Charitable Trust.  Chad’s determination and strength, both mentally and physically, is commendable, and TAG Oil is proud to be a sponsor.

Take a look at Chad’s facebook page to get updates as he starts his ride on June 13. Chad will undergo a true test of strength riding through all types of landscapes and weather while battling sleep deprivation and the toll that this type of extreme exertion (and commitment) takes on his body and mind.

TAG Oil wishes you good luck Chad! Come home safe.
