100% Interest: 7,910 Acres
PEP 38748 encompasses 7,910 exploration acres and is a high-graded, highly prospective exploration asset strategically located in the heart of the Taranaki discovery fairway. This exploration asset is highly complimentary to our Cheal production license by providing exploration opportunities with a reasonable risk profile. A number of drillable prospects have been identified by 3-D seismic modeling, indicating the potential for significant reserve discovery.
This permit is surrounded by producing fields, and is located within the central Mt. Messenger Pool fairway. This 3-D defined Miocene aged prospect, directly correlates to the largest Miocene pool in Taranaki, the Ngatoro pool. The prospect sits directly adjacent to the Ngatoro pool, and shares all critical technical factors with that proven area. Construction of the first exploration well site and access road was initiated in November, 2009, with a view to drill one or more wells in the permit area in 2010.

Offsetting prolific oil and gas fields, the Winchester Permit is located in the heart of the Taranaki discovery fairway.
