Greater Cheal, Petroleum Mining Permit 38156-S

Greater Cheal 100% Interest: 7,910 Acres
Greater Cheal encompasses the exploration area to the northwest of the producing Cheal Pool, and is covered by a long-term Petroleum Mining License. The $4 million Brecon 3-D seismic program acquired by the previous Cheal Joint Venture covers all of this Greater Cheal area. Within this detailed coverage area, the general geologic and geophysical trends continue into promising untested areas directly adjacent to the producing Cheal pool. The evident fault structures to the northwest of Cheal not only provide conduits for oil migration from the underlying source rocks, they also serve to compartmentalize the Greater Cheal area into a number of Cheal look-alike prospects. Nearby analog fields are actually made up of a number of these separate compartments such as the Ngatoro filed (13 million BOE’s proven reserves) and Kaimiro field (10.5 million BOE’s proven reserves). Any subsequent discovery TAG makes will be quickly and economically tied into the Cheal production facility.
